architecture & interiors
Located on a small corner block in one of Canberra’s oldest suburbs, this Yarralumla house project proves that less is more, and that size most certainly doesn’t matter. This modern house incorporates recycled red brick as a response to the 1950s architecture of the street, and the nearby Canberra Brickworks. A simple form that employs materiality & detail to address the challenges and constraints of the site resulted in a modern interpretation of the Canberra cottage. Box House received a 2018 ACT Institute of Architects Award for Residential Architecture—Houses (New).architects
